5 Habits For a Healthy Lifestyle

November 19, 2018

What think we become. Think positive!

Looking on the bright side of a situation is not only good for your mental health, but also your physical health. The less we stress and worry excessively about certain situations, the less cortisol (stress hormone) we release, less cortisol will have a positive impact on your physical health in several ways, including strengthening your immune system. A simple way of attracting more positivity into your life is by expressing gratitude towards the things you already have.

Get Adjusted

Chiropractic adjustments aren’t designed to make you instantly FEEL better however, they are designed to help you instantly HEAL better. Adjustments will help to keep your body in alignment and the communication between your brain and body sharp. Regular chiropractic adjustments can help to detect problems on the spine before they develop into bigger issues.

Exercise 30 minutes every day

The importance of movement is critical for both mental and physical health. Did you know that 90% of the stimulation of our brain comes from the movement of our spine! There are many ways of exercising and the important thing is to find what suits you. Start light to avoid injury and aim for 30mins of brisk walk. Done regularly this will make a big impact on your overall health.

Get plenty of sleep

Adults should aim for 7 to 8 hours of sleep a night and children and teens 8 to 10 hours. Sleep is imperative as it is during sleep that the body regenerates. Muscle repair, memory consolidation and release of hormones regulating growth and appetite are only some of the things that happen during sleep. Poor sleep can in short term lead to lack of concentration, inability to make decisions, irritability and increased appetite.

Surround yourself with the right people

Most healthy people will gravitate towards people who have similar beliefs. It’s a lot easier to reach your goals if those surrounding you have similar ambitions.  At the end of the day you are the sum of the five people you associate most with so pick your people wisely.
